210th fly-in, 23rd November 2008: Yelizovo Airport, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia (UHPP)

Takeoff from UHP1 (Lenino) in a MiG-25 at dawn

Heading towards UHPP (Yelizovo)

Some great shots, swooping low over the snow-covered valleys

Field in sight

Flyby at moonrise

Gaining altitude before turning onto the right bearing.

Starting my descent into UHPP (Yelizovo)

Arrived at UHPP (Yelizovo)

An Airbus A340? This is what happens when you don't download *all* the CSLs.

Sunrise at ground level

Kumi arrives

Tonka arrives in an Su-34, narrowly missing someone who isn't looking up the glideslope..

The A340 really puts the cat among the pigeons.

The old and the new - Tonka's Eurofighter looks great behind my MiG-25.

I take off again in the old MiG-25 and fly around a bit.

Supersonic turbulence gets me into a nasty unrecoverable spin, and crash.

I take off again, fly around - and land properly this time.

Final approach in the MiG-25.

Kumi spots a Nimitz-class carrier out in the bay. I change planes into an SR-71 and taxi out to 34R to do some espionage.

Taking off with full afterburners.

Heading out to the bay, with the field in the background

Target located.

I buzz the carrier, getting some close-ups.

Spotted by an Su-15!

I light the afterburners and escape high and away.

I return to land at UHPP.

.. after getting a great high-altitude photo of the airfield.

I change planes into an Su-34 and taxi out behind Kumi

We leave UHPP, bound for UHMM (Sokol)

I catch up with Kumi, notice gear looks down - but it's just an artifact of the CSL

I shadow Kumi for a while as we head out over the Sea of Okhotsk.

I reach the coast

Lining up for runway 10

Arrived at UHMM (Sokol). Over and out.
