This is only the second version of YARTS as a Java applet. This applet should definitely work with the following web browsers:

• Internet Explorer 5 (Windows and MacOS)
  
• Internet Explorer 4 (Windows)
  
• Netscape Navigator 4.5 (Windows)
  
• Opera (with Java plugin)
  

If you encounter problems loading the applet, please check the following before emailing us:

• Has the applet loaded properly? - you should see a grey rectangle as the applet loads, replaced by a black options screen with some green text and several options. The applet is fairly large (270K) and should take around 35 seconds to load on a good day with a fast (56k) modem.
  
• Which web browser are you running? - if it is not on the 'tested' list, above you could find that Java is improperly supported, or not even supported at all. Try upgrading to a newer web browser.
  
• Has your web browser got Java applet support? - Java is different to Javascript! In your browser's options, Java could be turned off.
  
• If you get stuck forever on the 'loading images' screen, please let us know.
