YARTS is available in both the form of a Java applet (playable online), and a downloadable application (which you can play without a web browser and without having to stay online).

The application is currently available as an executable JAR file, but will soon also be available in the form of a ZIP file and Mac StuffIt file.

Executable JAR file

This JAR file version:

runs faster than the applet
has better tile graphics than the applet
doesn't need to download images, so doesn't need an internet connection

If you already have Java installed on your computer, you can:

click here to download the JAR file (510Kb)
save it somewhere
double-click on it

Alternatively open a command prompt and type: java -jar <path/and/filename.jar>

Source Code

The source code for the original version of YARTS is now available (licensed under the GPL).
Please note that we haven't touched the code in a while and there is no documentation.
