Sigma Station Aquarium
Legis anut ("peanut fish")
A silvery fish with rainbow markings running its length, roughly 1.5-2m long,
small dorsal and pectoral fins. Its white meat and oil are excellent food
sources. Swims in schools.
Shayu niccus ("nisk")
Dark gray, smooth skinned, small black eyes, distinctive triangular dorsal and
pectoral fins. S. niccus grows up to 4m, but is known to be gentle and
inquisitive. Shy, swims alone but will occasionally play with swimmers unless
startled. Its diet consists mainly of krill and other tiny plants and bacteria.
It was brought to Sigma aquarium not for food but to keep the tanks clean.
Wolniph
A native of the oceans of Xylan, one pair of this highly endangered ocean
mammal was transported to Sigma aquarium just before they died out in the
wild, in hopes of saving the species through a captive breeding program. In
the wild, it was claimed that wolniphs grew to 10m or larger; the pair in
the aquarium have not grown past 6m in length.
